Injury Prevention & Ergo Baby Care for New Moms

Equip yourself to reduce the chances of injury in your journey through early motherhood. The more you incorporate good positioning in daily life the more habitual/natural it will feel.

By building postural strength through consistently performing exercises you learn in this workshop, you will also be less vulnerable to injuries from the inherently unpredictable nature of baby handling.

in these sessions you will:

  • Learn a number of ergonomic risk factors associated with child rearing tasks

  • Receive a brief overview of common injuries in new moms

  • Participate in a series of postural strengthening exercises followed by a set of stretches aimed to reduce muscle tension and tightness in areas that are commonly affected. Instructor will give manual and verbal input, as needed, to encourage proper form

  • Practice joint protection strategies and get instructor feedback in real time on positioning during activities such as floor play, picking up/putting down the baby, breastfeeding, bottle feeding, diaper changes, etc.
